Cinnamon Rolls
These cinnamon rolls are fun to make, and they are pretty simple for beginning cooks. They're tasty too!
You will need:
2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
And for the filling, you will need:
4 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions for making the cinnamon rolls:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and sugar. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender. Add milk; stir until blended.
- Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead 8-10 times Roll dough about 1/4 inch thick in an oval shape.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Roll the dough like a jelly roll and cut into 1 inch slices. Place on a greased cookie sheet 1/2 inch apart.
- Bake at 350 degrees Farenheit for 10-12 minutes.
- Optional: You may put a light glaze over them. To make the glaze, just mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar with 3 tbsp. milk. Then pour the glaze over the cinnamon rolls.
