Nephrite
Nephrite is one of the four generals of the Dark Kingdom (Negaverse in the English DUB), along with Jadeite, Kunzite, and Zoisite. He is the North American Commanding Officer. In the past, during the Silver Millenium, Nephrite was one of Prince Endymions protectors. However, Queen Metallia corrupted him and the other generals. When they were reborn on Earth, they were corrupted once again. It is interesting to note that each of the four generals is named after a mineral or gem. Nephrite is named after the mineral Nephrite, which is one of the minerals that makes up Jade. In the anime, Nephrite falls in love with Naru (Molly). However, this never happens in the manga. Nephrite makes his first appearance in front of the senshi when he lauches an attack on a party held for the Kingdom D treasure. He believes the treasure might be the Silver Imperium Crystal. However, Sailor Jupiter kills him. Takeuchi Naoko made a concept drawing depicting each of the four generals with one of the Inner Senshi. In the drawing, Nephrite was paired with Makoto. However, this is just one drawing, and nothing was written on it. The only relationship that can be backed up is that of Sailor Venus and Kunzite. It's a fun idea for fan fiction writers to play with, though. |
