Sailor Neptune

Names: Kaioh Michiru, Michelle, Sailor Neptune
Japanese Name Meaning: Full King of the Ocean
Birthday: March 6
Height: 5'4"
Blood Type: O

Even when we first see Michiru, her image is one of beauty and grace. She attends Infinity School with Haruka (Sailor Uranus). Michiru is a very successful violinist. The first time Michiru appears in the manga, she runs into Mamoru. She comments that he must have been a prince in his previous life. That comment, of course, gets Mamoru's attention.

When Usagi first hears Michiru play the violin, she comments that the sound is sweet like waves. When talking with Michiru, Usagi notices that her eyes seem dark, piercing, and cold.

The inner senshi soon discover that Michiru and Haruka are also Sailor Senshi. However, the two do not fight with the inners as a team; rather they fight alone. We discover that they are on a mission to find the messiah and stop the darkness.

After fighting the messiah, Michiru, Haruka, and Setsuna (Sailor Pluto) decide that they will raise the reborn Hotaru (Sailor Saturn) from a baby. The outer scouts tell Usagi that they must leave because they have found a new mission. Michiru gives ChibiUsa her mirror, which is a talisman, as a sign of their promise to return one day. They do return, of course, in Sailor Moon SuperS.

In the past, Michiru was Princess Neptune of the planet Neptune. Her castle on Neptune is Triton Castle.

Michiru is very talented. She is a famous violinist. The violin she uses is a Stradivarius. This is one of the top kinds of violins. Michiru also is an artist, which is shown very strongly in the anime.

Sailor Neptune's powers are based on water, as are Sailor Mercury's. However, Sailor Neptune's powers are more offensive than Sailor Mercury's. Sailor Neptune's job is to protect the princess. She demonstrates often in the manga that she does care for the prince and princess.

Sailor Neptune's color is aqua. Aqua is said to be one of the iciest colors to use. This matches Neptune's sometimes icy personality.

In mythology, Neptune was the ruler of the sea. Neptune was one of the most powerful gods, second only to Jupiter. Neptune conspired to dethrone Jupiter. Upon finding this out, Jupiter exiled Neptune to earth.
