Sailor Venus
Names: Aino Minako, Mina, Sailor V, Sailor Venus Before she was Sailor Venus, Minako was Sailor V. She is the first senshi to be discovered. Artemis was the one to find her. Sailor V fought against the Dark Agency in England. Takeuchi Naoko wrote about Sailor V in Code Name wa: Sailor V. A person worth mentioning in the Sailor V storyline is Kaitou Ace. He was like Tuxedo Kamen is to Sailor Moon. Ace seems like the perfect soldier of justice; he is known as a girl's best friend. Eventually, we learn that Ace is Adonis, Venus's mystical lover. Adonis secretly loved Minako. However, he was also Danburite, an enemy. Therefore their love could never be. During the Sailor V manga, Sailor V sees Serenity in visions. She also bumps into the other three inner senshi. The Sailor V manga storyline ends. But, of course, Naoko Takeuchi picks up the storyline with Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon, where Sailor Venus has an important role. Minako is a fun-loving person. She is outgoing. Minako loves volleyball; in high school, she joins the Volleyball club. She also loves to spend time in the arcade, as does Usagi. Minako dreams to be an idol one day. She went to a lot of auditions, even when she was Sailor V. Minako is also good at English, after spending time in England. Minako is known as being very beautiful. She is the goddess of Venus, and even Artemis comments on how beautiful she is becoming. When Sailor Venus first appears, she is thought of to be the Moon Princess. She has a crescent moon on her forehead at this time. However, it is revealed that she is just a fake princess, and the true princess is Usagi. Sailor Venus is the leader of the Inner Senshi. Minako is focused when it comes to her job of protecting the princess. She is loyal to the princess, and will do anything to protect her. Sailor Venus was the one who killed Queen Beryl in the manga, with the Wink Chain Sword. Minako has a very special relationship with her guardian cat, Artemis. He has trained her and cares for her. It is revealed in the manga that their powers must grow together; Sailor Venus couldn't power up until Artemis was able to. Takeuchi Naoko drew a concept drawing of the Inner Senshi each paired with one of the generals in the Dark Kingdom. Sailor Venus was paired with Kunzite. This is only a drawing and was not backed up in the manga, EXCEPT for Sailor Venus. There is a scene in the manga where Usagi is on earth, visiting Endymion. During this time, Sailor Venus is caught on Earth with Kunzite. This backs up the fact that they may have had a relationship, however, we will never know much about it. Sailor Venus is also Princess Venus, of the planet Venus. Her castle was Magellan Castle. In the anime, Minako is shown to be insecure and goofy. She's more of a clutz in the anime, and her leadership role is lessened. In the manga, she is more mature. She is also more beautiful in the manga, and has a strong leadership role. She plays a bigger part in the manga than she does in the anime. Although the Sailor Venus's image color is thought of to be yellow, or orange, I've also seen it interpreted as gold. I would agree with gold being her image color. Gold represents beauty, fame, victory, and riches. I think this color represents Sailor Venus well. Sailor Venus's zodiac sign is Libra. Libras are known for their focus. The are team players, and like to do group things. Libras like things to be balanced. Libras are ruled by the planet Venus, and have a love for beautiful things. In mythology, Venus is the goddess of love, beauty, and desire. Zeus arranged for Venus to be married to Vulcan, the god of the forge. Vulcan was the only god to be physically ugly, and he did his best to please his beautiful bride by making her fine jewelry and furniture. |
