Sailor Mercury
Names: Mizuno Ami, Amy, Sailor Mercury People are always assuming things about Ami. They assume that she is the weakest senshi, and that she has no personality. This is not true. Even Luna thought she was a youma at first. However, Ami is a very important part of the sailor team. She is a great strategist. Ami is very dedicated to her studying. This is because she wants to become a doctor, like her mother. Ami is probably the most mature of all the senshi. She is always focused on her task. She lacks a little self-confidence. I don't think she realizes what she is. ^_^ At first glance, Ami might appear boring and dull. But she has other interests than studying. She loves swimming, chess, and art. She also is sweet and caring. And did you know that Ami had a secret crush on Furuhata Motoki? When asked about her ideal man, Ami replied, "Einstein." She is reserved when it comes to dealing with guys, unlike Minako. ^_^;; Takeuchi Naoko drew a picture of the inner scouts each paired with one of the four generals. In this picture, Ami was paired with Zoisite. However, this idea was never expanded on, so one can only guess as to whether or not Ami and Zoisite were betrothed. All of the senshi were princesses in their past lives. Ami was Princess Mercury of the Planet Mercury in the past. Her castle was Mariner Castle. As Sailor Mercury, Ami's job is to protect the princess. Many people have argued that she is a weak senshi, for her powers are mostly defensive. For those of you who think she is weak, please realize that without a defense, there usually cannot be an offense. Sailor Mercury's powers deal with water. Ami's parents are divorced. Her mom is a doctor. Her dad is an artist. Ami has not seen her dad in a long time, but occasionly he sends her postcards. Ami wishes to follow in her mother's footsteps. Sailor Mercury's color is blue. This color reflects Ami's personality well. Blue represents trustworthiness, tranquility, wisdom, hope, generosity, and intuition. In mythology, Mercury is seen as the swift messenger for the gods. Mercury was also the devine herald, the guide that knew the road to the Underworld. Mercury is said to have been the most cunning of all the gods, and a master theif. |
